If you are using the recommended client, you should have no problems logging on. Newer clients have done packet changes to support UOKR and the beta UOSA enhanced client.

We do not support the newer changes on the live server due to sql core changes which cannot be put on the live server yet (well, they could but I imagine a bunch of people would hate us for that). For now we will just have to make do with the older client requirement.

Look, it really is not that difficult. You can make the client code change to live without putting in the entire SQL stuff. Those two are not the same code and are not tied together.

There was a specific reason why the patch code could not be applied to live. I remember asking red this exact question awhile back as I was curious as to why it would not work. Of course, I forgot the exact reason so hopefully he can post the answer.
