that onkyage can set one of the aov players as an admin to the aov chat room on ventrilo we have someone spamming the room over and over and playing loud music.

We actually know who it is, its an old enemy of IBH members whom still use the AOV chat room. We use it literally every single day, but now he has it and is giving the pass to the room out to everyone on his shard telling them to spam us. Kinda hard to use vent when one idiot continues to blare music into their mic.

We even tried muting them they just make new login names and come back over and over.

Onykage would need to set it up so that there's an active moderator. If you plan on using it frequently then one of you might be appointable. You'll have to contact Onykage about setting that up though.

Anyone here happen to already run a server and want be the host for vent? Not sure how it works, guessing it's just a program you install?

Unfortunately I have no access to the vent and can't really do anything as much as I'd like to. Heck now that I'm living alone I could probably join every now and then.

They keep doing it every so often logging in and profusely blowing into the mic, or screaming as loud as they can; ur just using sticky keys to keep CTRL on while they blare music. The only thing we can do for now is mute them, but they just remake an account every 15 minutes and we have to remute them again and again. Ill check out how to get a server for vent going although i'm almost positive it costs something ill post when i find out.

Or hopefully we can get ahold of onkyage to set one of us on the AoV room to Admin so we can just block the annoying spammers

If I see Onykage pop up I'll let him know. AOV staff cannot be around to monitor a ventrilo server at this current point in time (perhaps in the future). If Onykage can set up some moderation or even change the pass then that could work.

i cant believe none of you guys have mentioned this to me im in the ventrilo server on a regular basis. Ive even droped in to talk to you guys.

I can issue admin access to another shard staffer but im sorry i cant do it for regular users. Should one of you get pissed off or what ever then this problem will repeat itself with the exception that this new person can kick/ban people.

Alternatively I can create IBH its own private channel with a password dictated by IBH. This should solve any spam issues.

Also, because i strictly do not allow spamming, if you will provide me via pm the name (ventrilo username) of the person who is spamming i will ban that individual for it. This is a standard rule on my ventrilo server, says so in the MOTD and my private forum.

I hope this clears the issue. I also hope you guys do not decide to move to a different ventrilo server. Its a service I happily provide, and I hope that one day the shard traffic will pick up and the AOV chans on the vent server will be quite the happening place to be.

If there are any other concerns or issues please feel free to PM me. I have been inactive yes, but i think I am still considered as a staff member here, (Red correct me if Im wrong with that assumption) so please do not hesitate to inform me about issues concerning the vent server.

..why pay for a server when i'll give you your own channel for free =). Just have to ask.
