I just think that its damage should be based from 40 necro skill =10% damage reflected back 10% of the time and 120 necro should = 100% damage reflected back 100% of the time.
I say this because my fencer can take nearly anything to wearing a brace and some earings and ring of dead and just stand and bandage nothing else need be done.
its sad pathetic and makes no sense actually hitting with blood oath is over kill

Blood oath can be a pain right now for a few reasons not related to the spell itself, so much as prevention. For one, there is a resist skill check that shortens the duration of blood oath, which is not yet applied on AOV. Also, there are a few missing items that can remove the curse such as enchanted apples.
That being said, blood oath is a part of necromancy and even when the spell is updated up to par with OSI, it will remain, both for players and necromancy casting creatures.
You must remember that not everything is "hit and kill", it's more like "before you hit, think about what you are doing first". If you're oathed, remove it if you can (talismans or remove curse spell). If you can't remove it, don't do a lot of damage to your opponent, heal up in the meantime or buff yourself up.

There is a super easy way around blood oath. Don't mana dump on someone that just casted it on you. Use smaller spells and heal in between. Most necros only have SS to heal so small spells will disrupt it all the time.

Hmmmm to me it seems over powered lol. Considering u can get its full effect from rings and braces ect and or arties with no need for real skill. if there was a need for 40 real skill that would make a difference.
I just think it makes things to easy. You do still have to stay alive through to damage you take i guesss but u would be doing that anyway.

OSI had a good compromise added to blood oath. It's a formula that lowers damage based on magic resist. I've posted this multiple times.

The formula and all the mechanics are noted and awaiting to be coded once the foundations are rebuilt (SQL and property mostly).dprantl wrote:OSI had a good compromise added to blood oath. It's a formula that lowers damage based on magic resist. I've posted this multiple times.

Remove curse, resist spells, bushido evasion, disrupt them, spam clumsy until it wears off, run.....
Many ways to counter bloodoath.
