Gargoyle pick axes dont yield the amount of ore they should per vain and dont really spawn a lot of ellimentals. I still mine 10+ vains of shaddow and spawn zero elimentals lol. I actually mined with them in fel for so long with no elimentals that i thought u couldnt spawn ore ellies in fel.
They could use some sort of re-working. Unless this was the way they were intended.
LoL They prolly also shouldnt be a reward for a 1025 copper quest. Which what my partener got last night.
+20 mineing gloves dont Increase smelt chance or anything to do with mineing and prolly shouldnt be a reward for high level Valorite quests companied by a pitifull check.

Like everything else, there's only a "chance" to spawn an elemental, which depends on your luck with the random number generator.

Sometimes it works in your favor, other times it doesn't. I've experienced both ends of the spectrum myself. One time I got 6 elementals off one vein before I depleted it while the next time it took awhile to pop a bronze elemental (Not cause it was bronze, just luck of the draw).

The current chances are scaled to what runuo originally has them set to (As we did not change any of the chances, it's at the default value their coders have set it to which is either on par with OSI or the values are off or have been revised with no corrections made). Our research will determine if the chances are on par or not and will be revised during the skill checking stage of the revamp project.

Apparently, the craft prizes are still wonky if you're receiving gargoyle pick axes for a quest like that so it will need some fine tuning yet so thanks for bringing that to our attention.

1025 val and +20 mineing glvoes again? wtf the gold reward and gloves is not worth the pick axes it took to mine. let alone the ingot worth?
Rewards system needs to be way simpler and so shit like this is easier to edit

It's random. It can't ALWAYS give the best prize. If that were the case may as well uninstall since winning gets boring after a while.

If you buy 100 extra large coffees at Tim Horton's during roll up the rim it does not mean you WILL win the car regardless of how much effort you put. It's random.

To be fair, I wouldn't complain if all my "try again"s turned into "Winner/Gagnon/Car"

To all you ladies crying about quest rewards: Do it for a year or two, then start talking. I have done thousands of smith quests, and yes I have gotten things such as +20 mining gloves off 1050 val quests. However, I have also gotten val hammers off 450 bronze quests. I hear a lot of people complaining about low rewards from high end quests, but the fact is you also get high end rewards from some low end quests. Overall, if you put in the time to do them, the crafting quests are EXTREMELY worthwhile.

Just be happy Red took the time to make the craft system, otherwise no one would have any ver/val runics.

Is it a bad sign if I initially thought somebody was posting some regex?

Thats kind of a beating.
But, considering you can do that all day every day with no risk involved and get plenty of gold and runic hammers I don't know that I have much sympathy either.

Doesn't suck any more than knocking out a bunch of Demitels and getting absolutely nothing from it, or spending 50 hours in Doom and getting nothing.
When you're looking for something specific sometimes this game blows, but if everything was easy to get there'd be practically nothing to do after about a week.

That is the key. When any new item is introduced many things have to be considered such as:

- How many people will try to get this one item?
- How much play time is required to get it, in average
- Will it be easier to get then another item that can replace it or is similar?
- Should it be considered very rare, or common and could there be an inflation in the future? (this can be very hard for non perishable items as people like to stock up on stuff they'll never use or sell, such as artifacts)

Basically you don't want any item to be gotten in a super short amount of time as people will grow bored of said item, very fast.

Problem being if something is too hard and expensive to get then it will be an item only able to be aquired by the wealthier people in the game. Things like that encourage people to attempt to cheat.
i think demise is proof of that

thats why i think everything but skill should be hard to get. imagine 2 feathers per bird. 3 hides per bull.maybe 150 gold on a dragon. coon dropping 25k. rares would be rare, and out of reach for the average-joe that doesn't put in the time, whilst rewarding lifers like Doc.

Yeah, I'm sure people would line up around the block to sign up for that fun fest.

Then again, I always liked Siege Perilous more than any of the other OSI shards. :?

Well not that hard to get as there has to be a logical balance. If you only got 2 feathers for birds, then making arrows would be retarded. However, if you look around, almost everything you can buy at a vendor can be made or harvested naturally which does bring up an interesting point: Should I make or should I buy?
