I've had multiple people interested in re-coding UOGateway, thought I'd start a thread and anyone interested could discuss together what is best thing to do.

Basically what this program would consist of:

- The website would have a top site list where people can submit their shards
- the uogateway program would be downloadable and read this list once a day to update, but could sort in alphabetical rather then popularity, or evne have an option for the user to choose.
- When a shard is clicked, depending on the settings the shard owner set when he submitted it, it would open razor or the client directly (if encryption is enabled on their server).

So really what we're looking at is just a launcher. If we want to go a step further and add the encryption build in it would be neat, but that is WAY beyond my knowledge and it would be something we'd have to keep maintaining every time there's a patch, so I say just skip the encryption and rely on Razor, they're usually pretty quick to update when there's a patch anyway.

Extras would be if there could be a way to check the online count, ping etc of servers, and it could be in the list as well.

I could easily build the launcher. Could make it multi platform as well. Possibly even do browser script (what ever those are called.). Website wouldnt be that hard either, Id recommend rails. 30 mins and BAM.. website.

Actually if it could launch right off the site it would be neat too, though on the other hand people may rather have a program they can download. Or we could even do both.

There will most likely be some adds (nothing retardedly annoying, probably just an adsense banner) so I can help recoup the cost of the domain.

The site I'll probably tackle when I get the chance, I'm thinking something basic, a top site custom script, a forum, that's about it. Maybe a spot for "featured shard" where shard owners can pay to show up, or something. Did not fully think it out yet. And of course, an ad for aov.
