AoV now has an immediate full time position open for a developer.
A dev's job is mostly done outside of game but also entails basic in-game tasks such as overseeing new code being used in production to ensure it is working as expected.
Tasks include:
- Coding various systems for AoV
- Possible data entry and script conversions to a new system
- Applying core system features to various aspects of the game
- In some cases, answering pages/questions
- Maintain and improve existing code
- Overseeing in-game activities to evaluate trends, helping in coding systems or noticing possible bugs
Qualifications required:
- Good knowledge of C++ or C# (C# preferred)
- Understanding of OOP Concepts such as function overriding, child/parent classes, implementing constructors, etc
- RunUO specific code knowledge is an asset, but not a requirement
- Ability to learn a custom coding environment and apply it
- Access to a PC capable of handling at least one virtual machine with access to Win2k3 as well as Linux (Linux VM may be provided)
- Able to write efficient, reusable and understandable code that takes full advantage of existing core system.
- Decent knowledge of Client/Server concepts
- Basic knowledge of the MySQL database language
Note: This particular position will start within a month or so and will entail converting RunUO style Mobiles and Items to a new, revamped SQL based system. From there, other tasks may be assigned.

I guess I'm up to. I'd like to see this shard go up against official ruo
I have in-depth knowledge of java (language, api, oop design patterns) All those safe for the api are 1/1 in c#
Proficiency in ORM all all related issues (object persistence, dead/live locking, transactions management)
I'm not accustomed to MySQL due to mainly using MSSQL & Oracle at my work, but this can change
I'd be able to spend and hour or two on daily basics for uov and I think i match the hardware requirements
