This is not me complaining about the new craft quest system, I love it. It forces people to burn through stocked up ingots of all types in attempt to get runics. This is a worthwhile process that puts the old BOD system to shame. I am proposing that BOD rewards get increased, not the craft quest system. During the entire time I have played on here I have done bods, and when the craft system was implemented I did it also. I keep all of my "high end" tailor and smith bods. BOD rewards on here aren't even worth the attempted effort to try to get them. I have received a few 10/15 ex val bods, but never 20/e/val/plate bods. I can't imagine the time it would take to get all the bods needed for a val hammer from bods, let alone on a small shard like this with very little trading of bods. Completing such a difficult large bod such as that, or even a 20/ex/bronze/plate bod would take a long long time on here. Being rewarded with a 30 charge gold hammer or even a 15 charge val hammer from these BODs that take months/years (depending on luck/difficulty) to fill out is pathetic. The quest system is easy, though time consuming, and takes many resources, however, it does provide good runics if you are willing to invest heavily.
To sum it up, I have done at least a thousand smith quests, and before that system I did months worth of bods. I have aquired countless charges of all levels of runic hammers DC-Val from the craft quest, however, I have never been able to fill out ANY 6 piece plate 20 ex large bod, DC-Val. I think that the rewards for the base BOD system need to be increased, because in reality, the odds of even completing one of them on here is very slim, and when you do finish it, the reward is very small compared to the craft quest system.

Maybe an increase to the old system would be good but that's why I thought they came out with the quest system. There's pretty good rewards from those and they take time and your ingots. I really like the new system.

I don't think you fully read what I said. I stated that I also like the new system, but bods on here are kind of useless other than "resetting" your quest timer. BOD rewards are nothing compared to quest rewards, and the high end large BODs are near impossible to fill out on here, due to the time it takes to get high end bods from questing + the lack of players to trade BODs.GustoMon wrote:Maybe an increase to the old system would be good but that's why I thought they came out with the quest system. I understand what you wrote. The reason I'm collecting normal BODs is for the rugs and tapestries. I know it'll take a bit because like you said, the lack of players to trade with but that's fine. And I agree with the bumpage needed for the old BODs. To tell you the truth, on the OSI shards it was time consuming as hell and rare to get the 'high end' BODs too, that's just inherent I guess.d. wrote:I don't think you fully read what I said. We only kept the old system as a transition phase given not all the rewards were in the new one, but due to how everything is very hard coded, we are not touching it. It's one of the reasons we just came up with our own system. The new system makes it very easy to add new rewards, change intensities, etc.

Thanks. PNG transparancy adds so much I find. IE users will have to suffer with the grayish blocky background though.

Check the sig in firefox, it actually blends in with the blue background. If you put it on a html page that has a background it blends in too (image background). PNG transparancy FTW.

It does the same on my IE too, perfectly transparent.

lol red's signature aside.....
The bulk order deeds reflect OSI's bulk order system which is very demanding and difficult to obtain runic tools (Or anything worthwhile for that matter). In order to get a valorite hammer from that system, you'd be easily waiting a few years to gather all the necessary bods (Through normal means no less). That's why I can't fathom players who say the new bod system doesn't give good enough rewards.
As red mentioned earlier, everything in that system is hard coded and pretty much reflects the statistics of a popular UO website known as "tower of roses", which will show you the prizes you'll get for them. Although I'm not a fan of the difficulty surrounding the old UO bod system, the work that's already been put into that system is not something that we are looking to change unless there was an a very good reason to do so. If we changed the rewards associated with that system, we would also need to document them to the BOD world as anyone who's serious about crafting follows the tower of roses website.

No one said the new BOD quest rewards aren't good enough, in fact I believe everyone who has posted here has said they enjoy the new system. I was just pointing out that we get bods from doing the quests, and the chance of getting good bods + the rewards from extremely rare/time consuming large BODs are pitiful compared to just doing more quests rather than the actual BODs.Death wrote:lol red's signature aside.....

Ohhh I've had numerous complaints in game about the material to prize ratio from some players. Although there may not be a thread in the forums about it, some people still want the runics to hop in their bags.d. wrote: No one said the new BOD quest rewards aren't good enough, in fact I believe everyone who has posted here has said they enjoy the new system.

I will point out that you decided to quote only half of my sentence, there is a comma there, not a period. I was refering to people in this thread only. I know many others bitched in other threads. No point in quoting if it's out of context.Death wrote: No one said the new BOD quest rewards aren't good enough

well, I agree with D. on this one. I've been tailoring like a mofo and I'm sick of getting the same crappy BODs over and over again. The chance of getting the higher end bods feels almost non existant. I'm not expecting immediate rewards, it would just be nice to get past the 10 exceptional jester hats to get some of the better stuff.
Also, Large BODs don't seem to drop much with tailoring. I've probably done upwards of 500 bods and only had 4 or 5 large bods drop on me
