Spells scrolls dispear.

Post by solarsea »

This happens when I try to insert a spell in a book, the book already contains it and the spell's original location is inside a container that's inside of another, the last one being locked in a house.

The spell scrolls just disappear then :)

How should I put it, no more references and being garbage-collected ? :)

Regards

Scrolls and books should both, ideally be in your backpack when merging the two.

But why on earth are you adding scrolls to a book when it is already there....pointless is you ask me.

Scrolls and books should both, ideally be in your backpack when merging the two - the world isn't ideal. And in the real world clients tend to love to do things that aren't supposed to be done.

Also, imagine I have a macro for filling a book with spells. And that I have a semi-filled book to be filled in by this macro. etc. etc. etc.

This is a bug. It's not related to any strange circumstances such as race conditions, dead/live locks or any of those, so it should be easy to find and fix. I've also added exact instructions on how to reproduce it with 100% chance.

I guess this closes the topic without any further questions why am I trying to insert a scroll in a book that already has it.

P.S. - lol, let's say that my character is literate and cannot determine if a scroll is in the book or not :D

As mentioned earlier, it can be considered a bug as the scroll should snap back to the origin container. In fact, this could also explain similar problems we have noticed and can highlight a limitation or flaw in runuo's container class (might have been changes we've done or might have been there all along). We appreciate your bug report and how to produce it and will certainly look into fixing it up. In the meantime, to prevent problems I would keep the scrolls in the top level in your backpack when adding to the books.
