Town Stealables

I assume all town stealables are in fel towns. What I was wondering since im new at thieving are they placed in stong boxes and or wooden chests that need to be lock picked or are they just out in the open to be had. I also assume that they are spread thru out all of the towns in fel. A little info would be helpfull TY.

Strongboxes (The gold boxes), some crates and some barrels. They exist in trammel and felucca.

You are untrapping and peeking into the golden boxes around town shops right? They should be on counters and such. Most of the time they are filled with junk like regular potions or swords and equipment. You need to steal everything in there so that the contents change (The npcs won't replace the items unless it's empty). If you're just peeking in them and trying to find the stuff you want, then that might take a while to get something.
