Some how be able to have a player ran city, like houses with stores and able to set up vendors, npcs, stables, and stuff like that. Each city has there own goverment and laws. Maybe even able to declare war on other cities, which would be cool because cities could have fortresses surrounding them, draw bridges and stuff. Not sure how complicated this would be to code, but I think this would bring alot of new players to this shard, as Ive heard many people talk about this idea.

Cool Idea to be able to have a city!
ya, I think many people would love this. Hopefully this would be to difficult to code, maybe using some code from others engines.

Something similar is on the back burner. Guild cities. Would basically be a city post/stone the guild master can set to a certain location and pay in gold per month for a certain square tile area. Within that city some things would not apply such as house distance rules so you could chain multiple houses together and what not. There would also be other changes like perhaps being able to lock stuff down anywhere etc...
Though this was just broadly though of it would have to go through tons of testing and consideration.

heres another idea take green acres and you make the system sell the walls vendors every piece needed for a city and make it so the stuff has durability and it has to be owned by a guild and when attacked it would break kinda like making castles u kno?

Yeah thats pretty cool idea. Yeah definitely be able to connect houses together, or one giant house so its like a real city like luna or something. Be able to have bushes, bridges, trees and be able to place a guardzone around and in the city.

We'd eventually like to build on something like that as it would be a pretty slick addition and a major gold sink to keep up your properties and such. For now it's outside of the scope of AOV but we have a ticket opened up for it as it was suggested earlier (Guild cities). Low priority mind you. For now you can control faction towns and run vendors there to get a slight taste of ownership.Kenji wrote:Some how be able to have a player ran city, like houses with stores and able to set up vendors, npcs, stables, and stuff like that.
