Get a seahorse. They can run on boats and water, but not land.
Run out to deep water and drop a boat.
Set up your fishing macro and wait for a monster to appear.
When one does appear, hop on your seahorse and chase him down.
Use UOAM to mark your location (drop/pickup marker) in case you die or Need to hop on the horse to make a bank run.

All of this is with no magery.

Try not to die or your ghost will get stuck on land. In fact, I recommend using a boat in the meantime if you plan on dying to the hands of some brute water creatures (Leviathan). We will be adding a tile relocation algorithm when we do the bug/feature maintenance.
