Radio Songs

Post by Death »

I'm sure most of us here listen to the radio in the morning before waking up to go to school or work. Some really good songs get you up in the morning, making you feel good while others make you wish the singer would just die (If you're really grumpy or aren't a morning person). What's your list of favorite and least favorite songs to hear in the morning?

Favorites (No particular Order):

- Dire Straits: Walk of Life
- Doobie Brothers: Listen to the Music
- Kim Mitchell: Patio Lanterns (Only works if there's no snow outside)
- Band: Life is a Carnival
- Supertramp: Logical song
- Rush: Time Stand Still
- Saga: Wind him up
- Steely Dan: Rikki don't lose that number
- Santana: Evil Ways

Worst Songs to hear in the morning:

- Sherryl Crow: If it makes you happy
- Led Zeppelin: Various
- The Police: Roxanne (I actually like this song, just the tone is not favorable in the morning)
- Heart: Barracuda (Also the tone)
- Donovan: Mello Yellow (Cause I loathe this song)
- Supertramp: Dreamer

Ya, money for nothing is another good one. Unfortunately, the intro where it leads up to the main song and gets gradually louder (Although bitchen) would also be annoying for those who want to catch that extra 20 minutes of sleep.

Also forgot Jackson Browne's: Running on Empty. That's another great morning song.

I'm in Timmins, so out of the 20 songs the radio station plays, none of them are really good. Even if they were, hearing them 30 times in the same day gets real old. :P

Here in Grand Rapids we have a sellout country station, but sometimes in the morning you will hear some good stuff. Last week I heard Johnny Paycheck singin "Take this job and shove it" at 5:45am on the way into work.
