ok, what monsters give good loot now?

I tried some pvm today and was pretty disapointed with the loot.

I first tried Yamadons. LOTS of gold, the rest was crap. IIRC I would get 1 or 2 keeper items off of a yamadon last time I hunted them.

Then I tried dragons, all crap loot.

Rat archers used to drop good stuff, but I opened my mouth and told Red about it. Now it seems that they drop crap too.

Just to clear stuff up, I am looking at the # of mods and % intensity when I judge whether its crap loot or not. So a ring with 15 peace, 15 fencing, 15 phys resist, 8 lmc, and nightsight would be considered "good". Not that I would keep it, I am just looking at the mods and intensities. Most of the stuff I saw today was 1 or 2 mod, less than 75% intensity.

So... where is the loot?

Just bad irl luck I guess. I tend to find half decent stuff all the time, like rings with 1/2 10lmc mr 2 and stuff.

You must have terrible luck on your character cause I pull absurd items off corpses all the time. Using honor to gain perfection and bumping your luck really increases the quality of loot. Tamers with a lot of luck help as well.

It depends on what you're looking for really. If you're looking for jewels, anything's good, particularly supreme beings. Weapons are a different story, sometimes you have to hit specific areas (Like tokuno for yumis/bokutos).

Kill a bunch of different creatures and see which give the best haul I'd say. If yamandons aren't cutting it, try some of the uoml creatures (Named). Unless of course you're looking for a yumi, then you're probably best to stick with the yamandons and find a bow to enhance or just craft a runic one.

so luck has to do with wat monsters drop not what is it chests? so i could give my luck suit to archer and stay away lol now does luck help with tots and aoas as well and wat do u kill for aoa do u have to be lord to get aoas?

you have to be lord to get aoas, best way to get that is do champs. Lots of monsters in 3rd and 4th tier to give you fame, just don't die too much.

Luck does not affect the loot in treasure chests. The intensity of the loot depends on the level of the chest (For example, the intensity loot you'd get from a level 1 chest is going to be low compared to say, a level 6 chest).

Luck affects the loot of killed monsters. The higher your luck, the higher the chance of bumping the properties on the corpses of monsters. You can still get crap from loot packs if you have high luck but in general, the quality and intensity of loot will be higher.

Luck affects your artifact chances to a certain degree as well as your chances to find some special items on corpses (parrots, masterpiece resources, etc). For AOAs you will need at least "lord" title (About 10000 fame). Kill high end monsters. I recommend daemons or dragons as they are in abundance in certain dungeons and give decent chances. If you kill it and it gives a decent percent, keep killing it (You can check with [artychance ).

Only the harder champs. Coon, sanders and rikktor can be soloed with enough preparation and good tactics (Think of the highest area kill ratio you can pull off. Necromancer + whirlwind blade with an area hit spell + conflagaration potions + etc etc). Chances of you dying are higher but it can still be done.

Also people forget about stuff like stackable explosive/burning items.

Imagine you acumulate 1000+ coal, lay it all out, throw some conflags.

You can clear an area pretty quick with good strategy. Though it does require quite some preperation if you decide something like that.

the best way to start doing champs is find a good t2a spot. Tortiose is very good, but a little too open. Hoppers is about perfect to get started. The monsters are packed in a close area, but yet separated by the landscape.

Get set up for a champ first. Make a guy for protection, rez, carry supplies, BOS out the gold, etc. My protector template is hiding, stealth, healing, anat, detect hidden, ninja, and some fencing. He does everything I need him to do perfectly. I put him in some gm crafted spined armor and he hasnt lost it yet, in almost a year and a half of champing on valor.

i tried making 2 chars just constantly cast evs and then ran around on my necro mage in wraithform casting wither but when it seemed like i wasent killing fast enough.

Also if you can get your hands on a grim reaper's strike, use it on your necro to summon undead. It has a cool off period and requires demon bones, but well worth it if used at a key time. Best bet is probably tier 2 as the mobs are not too hard but not 1 hit whither kills anymore, so the summons will speed things up.

It's a greater AoA so its very rare, but there are tons of them on the shard as back in the day it used to be a lesser. Maybe someone will be willing to sell one. Some people own like 10. before the timer used to be built into the staff itself and not global to the mobile, and it took me a while to bother fixing that bug.

I was never really fond of duel clienting and both chars killing spawn. All you need is a good suit, decent resists, 2/6 casting, and maybe some SDI for good measure. Its more about the technique and knowing when to run and heal. Throw in a few lucky heals/cures and you will be finishing champs in no time.

Back in the day I was doing champs WITHOUT LRC. Yeah, with regs, lots of wither regs. It sucked when I died and a ratman looted my regs. But thats how I got started.

Got 60 LRC mind you, but no way I could manage 100 on my suit without sacrificing properties.

i started my champing with RBC, Gloves of the sun, kasa, Swords of Prosp(no joke!), and gm made or looted armor. And thats only after I got all the Gtots, at first I just had RBC, and this was before wraith form leeched mana, so I was running around in lich form with negative fire resists doin the tok champ like crazy just to get tots to trade in for gear.

Do your champs in T2A, pair up with someone, or get ahold of me via pm and I can help you champ and get stuff.
