I honestly never really cared for gold. Silver has SOME value, since you can't trade people gold for faction horses. But gold, really, is only used for insurance and buying resources from vendors. When it's player/player trading, they barter with artifacts, runic weapons, power scrolls, and that sorta stuff. Until gold actually gets a bit of use other than giving me my shit when I die, there's not too much of a reason to worry.

If you give someone a program, you will frustrate them for a day; if you teach them how to program, you will frustrate them for a lifetime.

Which is why on OSI i would keep 100k in the bank of all my reds, and every friday i would check the difference and thats how i knew how well the week went as far as how many rks i allowed myself, how many people i was killing that were insuring wayyyy too much shit and paying my ass, who to rk to make that money from, it was quite the fun looking and seeing 2-300k a week on some fridays in the positive range.

But now a days cuz i dont play as often i just put a few mill on all my chrs that way i never really have to check it ever. lol.

Im a definate insurance freak on OSI, i make sure all clothes are blessed, all books are blessed, and the only thing insured is what cannot possibly be blessed outside of my personal bless deed lol.

Thats one thing here I want to try and add more value to gold, by adding more stuff that can be bought with it.

Like later on the guild towns will help.

I'm thinking of making gold roulettable, but I'm scared it will flood the market with arties. I'd make it go by 1mil checks with same chance as a 110 ps maybe.

know why it sucks? because its so easy to get everything, and every time we make it harder people bitch about it so trying to find ways to fix these issues is like diffusing a bomb.
I for one am always for making things difficult. Skillgain should be easy, anything other than basic resources should be difficult to obtain.

imho

I agree. Some things should be easy to gain (Like you said, skills, because you don't want to be training that for 7 months just to get started playing. Especially if you already have vast experience in uo).

Other items should be hard to get. Gives people something to work for. When I hit my peak on demise and had pretty much everything: Great gear, massive mansion, overflowing bank of cash, few barbed kits with 1 charge left, I found it got boring.

Best times I spent there were when I was new, fighting creatures and getting my first artifacts and doing stuff with the guild. When I had everything, it got boring.

Damn Plastic you would make a great spokesmen for the oil companies.:)

Counter-Point B: Currently you cannot sit AFK and run macros to gather these reasources off vendors even it instantly restocked. Razor does not recognize the difference between colored ingot, hides, or boards.

Razor does not do this but Easyuo does
