Should we have server wars?

The server HAS to reboot daily, but, it does not need to be a server wars. It can simply give a warning, wait, save, then reboot.

So there would be no server wars, just a reboot.

So my question is, should we leave it like it is and have server wars, nor not?

I decided I'll be moving server wars to around 8PM ET. Having it in the morning is too dangerous. I'm not around so if something goes wrong the server can't be tended to within like 12 hours from that point, and such downtime is not acceptable.

perhaps have sw on the weekends, when there might be enough people online to make it fun. TBH, most of the time sw is pretty vacant out in fel.

Perhaps instead of having a server wars dealy, under a no-save condition, why not open Green Acres as a no-save area? Like toss some hills and trees and other LOS blockers there, then have the area act like p16 did on OSI, where you lost nothing. It might even bring a trammie like myself over thataway.

would there be a way to code a hat that just gives all the mods and make it only work in that area? it would be funny to see people running around in just a hat fighting.

On a side note, back on the big d I made a maze level on one of my houses and had naked pvp. it was a lot of fun, just a big free for all. Lots of death, lots of fame loss, but very little insurance lost. Eby should remember it, he was running from my swordsmage when I got out the Axe of the Heavens.

Yeah from an event point of view guess one way of doing it is having some kind of special moongate or teleporter that you have to go through to get to the other side then it would bank all your stuff, or something. Or keep track so when you get out it puts the equipment back on.

pvp events with a basic 100lrc 4/6 full 70 suit could be interesting.

You could code that into a talisman and have all equipment be removed when entering, where only the Tali is usable. Now about weapons for melee ..

Definitely move the reboot time back to PM, but I don't see why SW would be removed. It's the best time for trammies to come try their hand at pvp risk free. Although, on this server, it's all relatively risk free as it's quite easy to gather gold, resources, etc

I will be moving back at 8:00pm, may do a forced update tonight as well since the ninjitsu stuff seems stable and other fixes need to go in and are fairly well tested.

I also opted to remove the no save period. Reason for this is most people don't really go anyway and just end up having to wait for nothing. The upcoming event system will compensate for this. Not sure *when* I'll start on it, but I'm hoping soon.

My bad, its 8PM. Was thinking 10 at first but thats too late, I don't want a problem to keep me up too late if something nasty ever happens. 8 gives me more time. 10 would also be more "prime time" for people who don't work or when people are off the next day. 8 is less out of the way. But its a quick restart anyway.

Also good news is you can now leave a macro overnight and it wont stop half way through due to a restart.
