I was just curious, I have been checking regularly but will wait until it is a final release and can handle all or most of my current extensions. Or rather install it in a separate directory and use both 2 and 3 like I once used Opera 7.x and 8.x at the same time.
Edit: Of course Opera is all I use for this forum, but FF does get a decent amount of use as well with other things.

It’s slated for 17 June, although I’ve been using Gecko 1.9 prereleases in Epiphany since upgrading to Hardy. From a purely Gecko standpoint, I’m glad to see near-native GTK+ forms now, and increased standards support is always nice, even if we can’t always take advantage of it.

I use RC2 at work it's pretty stable and the extensions I really care about work. I still use v2 at home though.
I'll download firefox 3 on launch day (for the world record), but will probably wait a week or so before installing it. I can't surf without ad block anymore.

I'm waiting till its fully released.
I tried it but it currently does not import bookmarks properly and I really don't want to have to redo all my (over 100) bookmarks and reorganize everything. I'm sure they'll get that working before the final release.

That was a fast download for the final release...they must have quite the load of servers to handle the onslaught of downloads.

Microsoft sent the Firefox team a cake in honor of the release. (They also sent one for Firefox 2. No one died to my knowledge.)

as much as some of the higher ups at MS may dislike firefox, I bet the developers love it. The competition gives the guys on the IE team an excuse to play around with new features.
I went in for an interview at CNN once, one of the managers in the tech department was telling me how they loved all the competition in TV news, because the bosses upstairs kept telling them to buy new toys, trying to out do the competition.
