There have been new posts, and we’re not dead – yet.

You could join the military. They make it look so fun in the ads. :P

Especially when you see the commercials saying 'Navy. It's Time to get Underway' while floating in the middle of the Atlantic. Your main thought then is 'It's time to get to a port'

On a related note, the ocean is a beautiful deep purple you do not see within several hundred miles of shore when you get way out there.

Started talking to yourself I see.
Yes, it was the only way I could be sure of an intelligent conversation

I never actually see Navy commercials, just Army ones. Do Old Navy commercials count? :P

Recruiters still call my parents’ house from time to time, and I’m not sure how many of them I have to flirt with before I’m blacklisted. (Admittedly an air force – not necessarily the US Air Force – has some appeal, but I don’t think I can handle the rigidity.)

Edit: Necessarily, not necessary. This is what happens when one relies on spell checkers too much.

Wow thats kind of scary. As much as I'd like to be able to do something for my country if it were required here, I'm just not willing to loose limbs or come back as a retard from brain damage (ex: if I get shot or something).

Some people are willing, and I sure admire their willingness as we would not have peace without them.

Funny thing is, I'm sure the enemies on the other side don't want to be there either.

Why can't we just all get along?

Yeah. I remember reading stories from WWII where German parents that served in WWI would tell their kids going off to war to surrender to the first American they saw.

We treated our prisoners so well back then the enemy actually wanted to get caught, so they could be shipped far away from the battlefield and play soccer all day. How's that for military tactics, give the enemy an incentive to give up. These days we have Gauntanimo, yeah, that's working out great for us.
