Tamable Black Jackal

I finally tamed a black jackal. It is pretty fun to play with (it uses necro/ss instead of mage/eval) and I wanted to train it up. I was having it hit things for around 20 minutes, and it's skills would not raise. It is not at the 700 cap and has plenty of room for improving it's skills.

There is a known issue with pets and skills that's being looked into. For now just keep it stabled.

Yeah has to do with the AI. Mobs will only cast spells at which they have high chance, so they never gain skills. thats part of the fact that the AI is better, as they never fizzle. What I'll end up doing is making skills go up no matter what, at least for creatures.

Actually, the black jackal is a special case which has been around for a long time now. None of its skills will raise, not even wrestling when it's hitting stuff. I have multiple black jackals that have all their skills at exactly the same numbers as when they were tamed.

That may be the case for that particular pet, I'll have to check out the script and the lore (One of brunus' creations so not sure if that's what he intended or not).

As for the other pets, yes they are having some skill issues because of the way AI handles things. This will be fixed as soon as we figure out a feasible method and we thank you all for your patience.

yea, its not a huge problem. I'm just wanting to test my luck in gauntlet so im making multiple tamers, and it's a pain when creatures won't gain in skills. I'm in no rush though so it dosen't affect me too much.
