http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail.htm

just tested this out, actually works really well and speeds aren't all that bad.

of course you need a gmail acct and full version of winrar to manage file sizes

kinda neat and handy hosts 2gig for ea. acct (actually more likely 1.75)

I've got a Gmail account, should I get this?

But first, could you explain it a little better than that there website link does?

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.

getting it is up to you. but what it does is change your gmail acct to a drive on your p.c.

if you select 'my computer' you will see a minimum of one hard drive called

C:

if you have more than one physical hard drive (external drive for eg.) you will see

C:
D:
E:

if you only have one hard drive and or external drives and have them partitioned you will see

C:
D:
E:
F:

etc. etc.

then of course you have your other physical drives like your cd rom, dvd rom, reader writers, your floppy, zip drive etc. and any other virtual drive you may have

A:
B:
C:
D:
E:
F:
G:

What this program does is create a drive on 'my computer' called gmail drive

where you need to 'login' to access the drive, once logged in it acts and looks like other drives on your p.c.

it is like adding a physical 2 gig hard drive to your computer :)

- now the benefits are for you to decide, if you ever format your p.c. and you don't have a seperate physical drive, you can store all your info on the gmail drive.

or if you want to share a file with a friend you and they can have the program and use the same username password to access the file

-- cons

to do this sucessfully large files don't transfer easy. but winrar can split one file that is 100 mb into 10 files 10 mb ea. or whatever settings you choose

hope this explains it better :)

I had a firefox plugin that did the same thing, but I forgot what it was. Didn't really use it anyway.
