The more I think of it, the more I want to merge it with Iceteks.

Iceteks is actually way more active then here now. I remember back in the day when the domain was just registered, there was so much more activity.

This joint is just so uninteresting anymore. There are hardly ever any 'real' discussions. Efforts to stir things up a bit seem to be so short-lived and get little participation.

Yeah I don't know what's going on. thing is we don't have enough of the pioneer members anymore, this is basically a completely different forum then it was 2 or so years ago.

No, I don't suppose so. We've been saying that the old members haven't come back since I joined in August of 2004. If you really feel more comfortable just having Iceteks, Red, then you should do what you are comfortable with. We wouldn't have had this forum for as long as we've had it if you hadn't taken over the ownership. On the other hand, some people do enjoy it here, even if they aren't the old members, and a forum doesn't have to have a certain level of busy activity to be a good forum.

Well, things have changed drastically since the old days. I guess, for me, a lot of it has to do with the fact that this was the first forum I really felt a part of. Over the last few years, a lot of the people I knew in here have either left or become considerably less active. I mean, for example, Tak used to have no trouble accumulating five-digit post counts in a relatively short time. But anyway... by no means MUST the old-timers all still be around to keep things interesting. Back when manadren, sintekk, william wallace, shenbaw, and others were around, this joint was still interesting and worth visiting at least every day. But now all of them have left. I'll admit, with Will gone, a lot of the fire and energy around here departed as well. I know how bad this may sound to some of our newer members, but ever since the avalanche of young teens came on to this place, we lost most of the other members that kept quality discussions going and I personally couldn't care less about most of the threads around here now. Now it's difficult to have a real discussion about something and have more than just two or three other people participate. The 'Faith' thread we had recently was a good effort but we need more like that, where there's solid discussion taking place.

Blah blah blah, this has all been said before so I'll stop now!

Yeah if I had more time on my hands I'd finish my forum robot, a couple of bots on here would possibly get the job done, depending on the AI engine I'd use.

Seems to be like that all over. Even forums I go to that used to be active are not as active anymore. There's probably too many forums out there now and people are generally less into posting at forums.

Yeah, I think people who are registered at a lot of forums usually post regularly at just a few, especially if they are pressed for time. Right now I am posting regularly at just two, but I check 4 others every day, and five others beside those at least twice a week.
