If you could take a time machine back to any time in the past, where would you go? I would love to go to Egypt when the pyramids were being built to see exactly how they were constructed. I would also like to see herds of thousands of buffalo in the American West.

I'd go in Jesus's time. I'm always wondering how exactly it was then, and would be cool to see Jesus make miracles and stuff.

If I had a time machine, I'd also go back to jesus' time (to see some proof and whatnot), but only after I stop off in the future to pick up a jetpack first

No, you stop in the future to pick up the Superbowl scores for the next 20 years.

Yes, but then I'd use the funds to pick up a jetpack. What good is time travel if you don't pick up a jetpack? :sintekk:

What if it needs special fuel? What good is picking up a jetpack if you can't use it in the past?

Then he might get lonely.

It would be cool to watch the
Wright brothers fly the first airplane.

Yea sure, until they see sintekk's jet pack. They go postal, the prime directive is violated and there's a rift in the time space continuum. Then suddenly back here in the real world...........chain smoking circus monkeys rule the world. GREAT, but no thanks. Been there, done that! <_<

I'd go back to Celtic times or Ancient Greece or D-Day.

But more realistically I'd just go back a couple of weeks and put bets on loads of horse races and football matches.

Ancient Greece is a good one, I would love to go back to around 1000BC and view general civilization in south asia/australia, or to the 1700's here in America to view the general landscape(political, ecological, and psychological). And then, yes, I'd have Q fix everything I messed up.

I would like to be able to go back to the time of the Roman Empire. I would teach them the secrets of electricity and make lots of money. That would put the civilized world ahead by about 2000 years. Then coming back into the present I would see cars that float on air, regularly scheduled flights to other parts of the galaxy, and robots performing much of the labor that humans once performed.
I would also like to be able to go back to October 2001 and warn the gorvenment that terrorists were going to hijack planes and blow up the WTC and the pentagon with them. If they actually took me seriously (which I doubt), I would have prevented a a major disaster and be hailed as a national hero.
I would also liked to have seen the civil rights movement of the 1960's, so that I could see the end of racial oppression and the realization of this country's ideals first hand.

Which gets me to wondering whether such knowledge would have kept the Roman Empire from collapsing and whether all the cars floating on air would be traveling above roads that led to Rome.
