Hmm I should know this. Basically anything after 1946-47 is what you're looking for. As a start I was born in 1986, in Canada of course.

Here's a few that might interest you.

Figure skater Barbara Ann Scott wins Canada’s first Olympic gold medal in figure skating 1948

Newfoundland becomes province 1949

North American Treaty Organization (NATO) created, Canada joins 1949

Korean War begins 1950 (I'm not sure if this affected Canada or not though)

Elizabeth II becomes Queen of England 1952

Hockey fans revolt at "The Richard Riot" in Montreal (this is actually bigger then it sounds) 1955

Canadian Bill of Rights 1960

Quebec Crisis: Pierre Laporte kidnapped by the terrorists 1970
Quebec Crisis: Ottawa invokes the War Measures Act 1970
Quebec Crisis: Pierre Laporte executed by terrorists 1970
Quebec Crisis: British Trade Minister James Cross freed by terrorists 1970

(we had terrorists? why arn't we bombing random countries now like the US does? )

Funny your asked to do what happened after the war, since it seems the most exciting stuff happened before, like the invention of the car, the depression, industrial revolution etc..
