put back oranage/blue skin

I might have a good backup of the final product for the skin that I had modified based on majority requests. Only way to test it is to restore it but based on the time I did it, and the time the autobackup runs on my server, I retrieved the folder in time and saved it elsewere so it's not overwritten with the curent stuff on the server. (local)

Allot of you were just whining and complaining about it, but others want it back. and some gave constructive crticism. So I'm doing a poll to do a final decision on wether or not it goes back up.

Once it's up, I'll have a contest for the buttons so everyone can give it a shot at designing them. (post buttons etc)

From this point on I'll tweak it based on suggestions.

And saying it looks like "fucktard piece of crap puke" is not a suggestion so I won't even come near to accepting that (in fact I may even use the warning system on rude insulting comments like the ones I got new years day).

So cast your vote! I have a feeling this will be as hard of a decision as Bush and Kerry.

I haven't seen the skin you speak of, but orange and blue sounds tacky.

Why don't you go with something classy like black and grey, or a nice mossy green. Not too hard on the eyes.

I'm not familiar with the way it works on this kind of board, but if you gave me the images, etc., I'd be more than happy to make a custom one for your consideration. I made one on ilechoo.com. You have to register to see it. If you do, it's the theme called, "mgreen."

Alright now you're talkin' Red. Yes Yes!!.... bring it back. Let me know when so I can see it this time. I don't care what it looks like, it'll be better than default and like you said you can just tweak it along the way.

Ana you mentioned moss....Red actually had a poll going for a Forest themed skin at one time....I've seen your skin, it's really nice.

But seriously, there is a reason you don't see many orange and blue skinned forums. Green wouldn't be to bad however, assuming it's done well.

So forest theme is next try I guess. I have an idea on how it could be done. Got enough tree/camp pics that I can do something with. It would just be a css change and graphic change though.

Since I'm warning everyone this will be just as much green as the other had orange. But I won't have time to do this till a while so I can think about it meanwhile.

People have opinions. Don't get mad, just use the feedback to make something that the majority likes (or better yet, make an option for us to choose what theme to use

That's what I did last time, but it did not work since majority of the people said orange, so I did it, but almost everyone was just dissing and insulting it/me after the change, that's the part that makes me mad. Instead of just giving constructive critisism, or realizing that 2 hours was not enough to finish it completely etc... no instead everyone is just very insulting about it. I mean, new years eve, come on now. I could have done something for Iceteks that night and be apreciated, instead. But anyway this is a different story.

I just hope that this time goes better and that I don't get dissed this time.

No, what I mean is a forum option for us to all personally choose the skin we want, like what the forum had before (e.g. I had the mac theme, but others had the default)

That works, but makes modding a PIA since the mods have to be installed X ammount of times, where X is the ammount of skins. At some point I'll want to add/code modifications and such. Most of the ones I have are behind the scenes stuff, but at some point I may want to make some visible ones too.

My suggestion is, if you want to avoid the possibility of getting complaints, you shoud not just replace the current skin with the new one. You can make the new one default, just leave the old reliable IB skin in the database. It's better marketing anyway, a good forum should have more than one skin choice for different user preferences.

Yeah but that just illiminates possibilities of modding... but I can always add the mods on only the default one anyway, that's another option. Though some mods require calling a function that has to be created inside the skin which is a problem as it will error out with non-default skins.

Not to mention having to recreate the header for each skin. Remember back when we used to do that, it was a PIA.
