Gauntlet tips for max arty goodness

This is posted for sliptongue.

Step 1: Make disco tamer. Get CuHidse because they help keep your character alive. Farm tots until you get Demon slayer Flute of Renewal. Put on luck suit and that character is done.

Step 2: Make human pvm archer. Chiv/anat/tacts/healing/archery. Get demon slayer bow with life leech.

Step 3: Run both characters to the red doors. Enter your tamer first, disco, all kill. Switch to archer and EOO, double click. Switch back to tamer while archer shoots.

You could even use 2 archers and 1 tamer, tripling your arty chance.

Enkel, I dont know why you are making such a big deal out of gaunt... Those arties are still easy to get if you have characters that can handle the bosses. That is unless you have extremely bad luck in real life, but even then your bad luck doesn't hold a candle to Tom's arti-less streak. He did tok champ till his tot chance was over 100.0 and still didn't get a tot. So the luck can be REALLY bad sometimes. Just stick with it, then you will get 2 arties in 1 round and it will even out.

I'm making a big deal out of it because squirrel keeps changing shit that doesn't need to be changed. The arti drop rate was perfect, especially for the size of the server. Yeah, it's kewl that it does still increase, but compared to the way it was before, it's garbage. I'm also making a big deal out of it because gaunt is sooo boring. Doing two rounds and getting an arti was great...anymore than that it puts me to sleep. (As it does to many many people.)

you missed the valentine's day event... that dropped an arty about once every 5 minutes. I hope that is coming back next year, i will will call in sick for that.

Ok, so the gaunt is sooo boring. It's not like the Gaunt is the only part of UO or even the only way to get arties. If Gaunt is being an ass to you and isn't givin' ya arties as often as you want, then go lay waste to some Felucca spawns and work on gettin AoAs and then trading them in for a chance at G'AoAs.

Last time I was in Gaunt it was with Reco and it was after the change from .1 to .025. (I think those figures are right). I got the Tunic of Fire in the second round of fighting. I traded it in and got Essence of Spellcasting.

Anyways, Doc's tips here are a sure fire way to get arties, no doubt about it. But Enkel, if you want anyone to come help out so that you can barrel through Gaunt rounds quicker, then let me know, I'll be more than willing to help you out.

My main char has a demon slayer talisman, so he can whack a DF pretty quick. Shove the sword where the sun don't shine and get arty for it.
